Couple Crosses Country For A Haines Hunter

WA couple and keen anglers Sarah and Shane Anderson both grew up with boats and fishing. So when the time came to purchase a new boat, they knew they needed a trailer boat that could handle offshore fishing, was able provide long range trips, had the seaworthiness to suit the conditions off the WA coast, but could also easily cruise the Swan River with family, friends and kids.

They also wanted a hull that was quiet, smooth riding, finished to a very high standard, and looked good. These requirements meant that fibreglass was the only option for them.

After much research, they constantly came back to the Haines 650R Limited as the only boat that met all of their requirements.

At this time, and with no dealer in WA, they spoke to the Haines Hunter factory and were able to track down a 650R Limited hull at Port Phillip Boating Centre in Victoria. After a visit to the factory and the dealer in February, they worked closely with the Haines Hunter and the Port Phillip Boating team to get themselves exactly the vessel they wanted.

Following a sea trial in Melbourne in early April, the boat arrived in Perth mid April, just in time to take advantage of the great boating weather over Easter and to catch the end of the game fishing season in WA.

Over the coming months they will be fitting the boat out for big game fishing, with a goal to be the champion boat in the Perth Game Fishing Club, with Sarah’s sights set firmly on becoming champion angler.

Buying a Haines Hunter if you live on the west coast has now been made a whole lot easier, with WA dealer Jetpower Boatshop recently appointed as a Haines Hunter dealer.
